Unhappy What Can I Do?

Hi! I've recently moved to Woodcreek Village Apartments and I've noticed how many phillipino men there are in my area. They're walking around in groups of two, riding bikes, and sometimes looking in parked vehicles. Usually on Sundays I see some move out with heaps of luggage and some more move in.There's big buses that pick up and drop them off. I'm a single mother with three children and what I want to know is what the police are doing to monitor this situation and if anything can be done. I have heard a lot of stories about them, but it's scary every time I go to and from work and there's about twenty men standing around watching me go inside my apartment! Is there anything I can do to help make myself feel any safer? At any given time they're outside and I know of three apartments that house them in my section alone.

If your instincts are telling you something is wrong...then call the PD and make a report. I believe there has been a case of men on bicycles of foreign descent that have been stealing from people. This may be completely unrelated, but if they are looking in vehicles I think this should be called in to the PD. Also, tell the apartment manager.

Stuck in Limbo

I've talked to the Police department and they are aware of them. There have been reports of these type of men breaking into cars for wallets or purses, but they need more proof for an arrest. My apartment manager is also aware of them and she says she can't do anything unless they call attention to themselves in or around the apartments. They are watching them, but they haven't done anything illegal that they know of on the premises.

The story I got about them is that they're welders that work all around the country ( and beyond). Anytime there isn't work they'er stationed here. And because they are always on the move they don't have cars. This was the story several of them told a friend of mine who got to know them when he had a booth at the BFM and they frequented his place. I can understand you being nervous because it's a bunch of men but like it was said earlier there is absolutely no proof of them doing anything illegal. Like in any group, however, I'm sure they have their bad apples so continue to be careful and alert.

I witnessed the Filipino men riding the bikes on Garth Road yesterday. I saw 2 groups. I found it rather odd looking.

I would wager they haven't done anything wrong.

BB: The word is they are workers, waiting on a job. Been to the P.I. and I liked it. I found the people there are friendly, as long as you are.
